Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Aguadilla, PR is seeking a Senior Electrical/Computer engineer to design and verify high-performance ASIC/FPGA blocks for signal processing and information assurance. You will lead RTL-based architecture, timing closure, and integration across Mission Systems programs.

The role requires clear English communication, a STEM degree with 5+ years experience (or an advanced degree with 3+ years), and eligibility for U.S. citizenship/security clearance.

This position is for a motivated Senior Electrical or Computer engineering candidate to be involved in the design, implementation, verification, and integration of a wide variety of high-performance digital ASICs and FPGAs applied to signal processing and information assurance products across Mission Systems on the Product Enabling Technologies team. This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered. This role is categorized as hybrid, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.

What YOU will do:

• Requirements capture, ASIC / FPGA digital architecture and design using RTL, timing closure, verification, and system integration
• Recommend new tools and practices for continuous improvement in the group's ASIC / FPGA design flow
• Contribute to engineering estimates for new program pursuits. Provide technical leadership for project design teams by breaking down work, planning activities, and reporting status

Qualifications you must have:

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
• Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written)
• U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance is required

Qualifications We Prefer:

• RTL coding and simulation in VHDL or Verilog
• Digital circuit architecture, design, resource tradeoffs, timing analysis and timing closure
• Testbench development for the verification of RTL blocks using VHDL or System Verilog
• Proficiency using ASIC and/or FPGA simulation and synthesis tools (e.g. Modelsim, Synplify, Quartus, Vivado, or other FPGA-specific tools)
• Experience with best practice chip-level verification techniques and languages (e.g. constrained random, functional coverage, SystemVerilog)
• Design for Test (DFT) and manufacturability issues
• Experience with Unix, scripting, C/C++, and/or Perl
• Experience with revision control concepts and tools (e.g. Git, Subversion)
