Job summary

RTX seeks a software-focused candidate for an onsite role in Aguadilla, PR. You will collaborate on system requirements, translate them into software designs, and develop code that meets customer and certification standards while working in testing environments.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on System Requirements and Software Development: define system requirements and translate into detailed software requirements, UML/SysML models, and diagrams for a large-scale program.
• Effective Communication and Team Collaboration: work closely with software engineers and team members to ensure clear communication across multiple disciplines.
• Develop Code to Meet Customer and Certification Standards: maintain, enhance, and develop software meeting customer requirements and certification standards.
• Software Implementation in Test Environments: produce high-quality software implementations and integrate them within testing environments.

What You Will Do:

• Collaborate on System Requirements and Software Development: Join a dynamic software team in a cross-functional environment, contributing to the definition of system requirements and translating them into detailed software requirements, UML/SysML models, and diagrams for a large-scale program
• Effective Communication and Team Collaboration: Work closely with other software engineers and team members to ensure clear communication and collaboration, fostering a cohesive, solution-focused environment across multiple disciplines
• Develop Code to Meet Customer and Certification Standards: Collaborate with your team to maintain, enhance, and develop software that aligns with customer requirements and meets certification standards, ensuring both functionality and compliance
• Software Implementation in Test Environments: Take responsibility for producing high-quality software implementations and integrating them within testing environments, ensuring the code is thoroughly tested and meets all specified requirements
• English (read, write, speak) is required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English

Qualifications You Must Have:

• A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
• Educational knowledge and project application on software development using Python, C++, or similar, including debugging, integration, and deployment on software platforms.
• Familiarity with software development processes (e.g., Agile, DevSecOps, CI/CD) and tools (e.g., Git, Gitlab, JIRA).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Knowledge in basic Linux shell scripting, Python or Perl
• Working knowledge of programming languages such as C++ or C#
• Software level debugging experience.
• Knowledge of Database language such as SQL
• Familiarity with Git, Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, and Coverity.
