Job summary

RTX in Aguadilla, PR is seeking software professionals for an onsite role within our defense program. You will join a cross-functional team to define system requirements, translate them into software requirements, and develop code that meets customer and certification standards.

You will learn through hands-on projects, gain experience with Agile, DevSecOps, and CI/CD tooling, and collaborate with peers to advance your skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
• Educational knowledge and project experience in software development using Python or C++, including debugging, integration, and deployment.
• Familiarity with Agile, DevSecOps, CI/CD and tools such as Git, GitLab, JIRA.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
• DoD Security Clearance After Day 1

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on system requirements and software development, translating them into software requirements and UML/SysML diagrams for a large-scale program.
• Work closely with software engineers and team members to ensure clear communication and collaboration across multiple disciplines.
• Develop code to meet customer requirements and certification standards, ensuring functionality and compliance.
• Implement software in testing environments and ensure thorough testing of the code.
• Communicate in English with customers and colleagues who speak English only.

What You Will Do

• Collaborate on System Requirements and Software Development: Join a dynamic software team in a cross-functional environment, contributing to the definition of system requirements and translating them into detailed software requirements, UML/SysML models, and diagrams for a large-scale program
• Effective Communication and Team Collaboration: Work closely with other software engineers and team members to ensure clear communication and collaboration, fostering a cohesive, solution-focused environment across multiple disciplines
• Develop Code to Meet Customer and Certification Standards: Collaborate with your team to maintain, enhance, and develop software that aligns with customer requirements and meets certification standards, ensuring both functionality and compliance
• Software Implementation in Test Environments: Take responsibility for producing high-quality software implementations and integrating them within testing environments, ensuring the code is thoroughly tested and meets all specified requirements
• English (read, write, speak) is required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English

Qualifications You Must Have

• A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
• Educational knowledge and project application onsoftware development using Python, C++, or similar, including debugging, integration, and deployment onsoftwareplatforms.
• Familiarity with software development processes (e.g., Agile, DevSecOps, CI/CD) and tools (e.g., Git, Gitlab, JIRA).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
• DoD Security Clearance After Day 1

Qualifications We Prefer

• KnowledgeinbasicLinuxshell scripting, Pythonor Perl
• Working knowledge of programming languages such asC++or C#
• Software level debugging experience.
• Knowledge of Database language such as SQL
• Familiarity with Git, Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, and Coverity.

This position is classified as: Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

This position is a fully Onsite role in Aguadilla, PR. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment
