Job summary

DoorDash is seeking an entry-level Software Engineer I (Graduation Date: Fall 2026–Summer 2027) for the US. You will work with a mentor and experienced engineers to build and operate scalable software powering local commerce across our platform.

You will develop, review, and test code, learn systems at scale, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver value to consumers, merchants, and delivery partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or a related field with graduation between Fall 2026 and Summer 2027.
• At least two software engineering internships or equivalent practical experience, with limited full-time experience.
• Experience with at least one object-oriented language (Python, Java, or Kotlin).
• Solid understanding of algorithms and data structures.
• Experience with databases/SQL and writing unit tests.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and ship production-ready software with guidance from a mentor and team.
• Write clean, testable code and participate in code reviews and version control practices.
• Learn the systems and components you contribute to and how they operate at scale.
• Apply feedback to strengthen technical skills and problem-solving approaches.
• Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional partners to solve problems for consumers, merchants, and delivery partners.
