Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a software engineer to design and deliver AI-powered solutions using Python, AWS/Azure, and Kubernetes. You’ll own production work with limited guidance, contribute to architecture decisions, and advance CI/CD practices while collaborating with agile teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related STEM field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum one year of hands-on software development experience with production delivery and maintenance of software systems.
• 2 additional years of software engineering experience.
• Authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; no sponsorship required.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud services.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools, including Kubernetes.
• Proficiency with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Experience with CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
• Demonstrated experience building, deploying, and maintaining production software systems.
• Ability to work in agile, collaborative development environments with limited direction.
• Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical collaboration.
• Familiarity with machine learning concepts, model evaluation, or data pipeline development.
• Experience or exposure to agentic workflows, LLM integrations, or AI-powered automations.
• Experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Familiarity with MongoDB or comparable NoSQL data stores.
• Familiarity with Temporal or comparable workflow orchestration tools.
• Experience with prompt engineering or RAG architectures.
• Familiarity with observability tooling or distributed tracing in production environments.
• Exposure to zero-trust security principles or secure-by-design development practices.
• Exposure to MCP server configurations or multi-agent frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design and delivery of AI-powered solutions across engagement types.
• Take ownership of assigned work through production with limited direction from senior engineers.
• Use large language models, agentic workflows, AWS/Azure cloud services, and Kubernetes to build business solutions.
• Participate in application and solution design discussions and engineering decisions.
• Follow and advance source code management, test automation, CI/CD, and modern engineering practices.
• Maintain operational ownership of delivered assets.
• Engage with Lines of Business stakeholders to develop relevant domain knowledge.
• Support teammates, participate in code reviews, and share discoverable knowledge.
• Stay current with AI and software engineering trends and apply new skills to deliverables.
• Participate in Engineering Chapter events and innovation activities.
• Contribute to team libraries, tools, and shared capabilities.
