Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced engineering leader to head a small team building applied AI systems for internal operations. You will design AI-powered automation closely with customers and stay hands-on across the full stack, developing systems that span developer tools, automation platforms, knowledge graphs, and data architectures.

You will deploy to internal users and customers to rapidly iterate on real-world feedback, while collaborating daily with product, research, and operations in

Qualifications

• 12+ years of engineering experience.
• 3+ years in engineering management.
• At least 7 years as an IC engineer.
• Hands-on building experience across the stack.
• Deep experience applying AI.
• Strong judgment across systems design, infra, and full-stack development.
• Experience building developer tools, internal platforms, or workflow automation.
• Experience interacting with customers and feedback-driven development.
• Comfort with ambiguity and evolving environments.
• Operational complexity in environments like logistics, support systems, internal tooling, or warehouse automation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a small team building applied AI systems for internal operations.
• Design and build AI-powered automation systems close to customers.
• Stay hands-on in architecture and implementation across the full stack.
• Develop evolving systems spanning developer tools, automation platforms, knowledge graphs, and data systems.
• Deploy systems to internal users and customers to iterate rapidly based on feedback.
• Engage with scaled workforces to understand needs and validate solutions.
• Create systems for visibility and learning in hybrid workforces.
• Partner with product, research, and operations teams daily.
