Bankers Insurance Group is hiring a Software Engineer I to help develop, support, and maintain enterprise applications for insurance operations. This early-career role emphasizes learning modern development, cloud technologies, enterprise integrations, and AI-enabled software development.

You will work with senior engineers to build REST APIs, web apps, and integrations while gradually taking ownership of solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 0–2 years of software development experience or equivalent internship experience.
• Working knowledge of C# and .NET.
• Exposure to Java or Angular.
• Understanding of REST APIs and web services.
• Basic SQL Server or relational database development skills.
• Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.
• Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts.
• Familiarity with AI concepts and AI-assisted software development tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Demonstrated willingness to learn new programming languages, frameworks, and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Support customer-facing and agent-facing web applications.
• Assist with the development and maintenance of REST APIs and enterprise integrations.
• Troubleshoot application issues and participate in production support activities.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation.
• Learn and support cloud-based applications and enterprise integrations.
• Collaborate with the AI team to help integrate AI capabilities into enterprise applications and business processes.
• Continuously learn new technologies, development frameworks, and engineering best practices.
