Job summary

Buehler, a division of ITW, is seeking a Software Engineer to scope, develop, and maintain complex software for electromechanical machinery. The role requires in-office work with hybrid options and close collaboration with software, electrical, and mechanical engineers.

You will drive technical direction, design specifications, and a roadmap for multiple software platforms while delivering high-quality software and addressing customer issues promptly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong software development experience in C#, C++, or comparable OO languages.
• Experience in Agile development environments and Scrum processes.
• Ability to collaborate with product management, engineering, operations and customer-facing teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to diagnose and resolve complex issues.
• Experience designing, developing, testing, and maintaining production-quality software apps.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with emerging software technologies.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction for the software engineering team and foster continuous improvement.
• Establish technical vision and design specifications for complex software applications.
• Partner with product team to develop a roadmap for multiple software platforms.
• Design, develop and test software to deliver high-quality products.
• Coach others on best practices and development methodologies.
• Support service and applications teams to address customer issues and provide prompt resolution.
