Simpson Strong-Tie in Fulton, MO, seeks an Equipment Software Engineer to design, develop, and support Windows-based software that interfaces with industrial equipment. You’ll own software areas, collaborate with controls, electrical, and manufacturing teams, and apply C#/.NET to build reliable solutions.

This role emphasizes AI-assisted development, rigorous testing, and diagnosing cross‑domain issues, including PLCs, printers, and networking. Hybrid schedule with up to 10% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related technical field; 5+ years of software development experience.
• Experience with Windows desktop application development using C#/.NET.
• Experience designing clean, maintainable, testable software.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools.
• Ability to diagnose cross-domain issues involving software, electrical, and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and support Windows-based equipment software applications using C# and .NET.
• Troubleshoot complex equipment-related problems across software, electrical systems, sensors, PLCs, motors, drives, encoders, printers, networking, and mechanical components.
• Integrate software applications with industrial equipment and control systems, including PLCs, using Modbus and OPC.
• Serve as a final software-support escalation point for difficult issues.
• Develop and maintain automated tests, diagnostic tools, and validation processes with AI-assisted tools.
• Integrate with industrial printing technologies and learn printer interfaces.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and improve supportability across the portfolio.
