Job summary

Buehler, a division of ITW, seeks a Software Engineer to scope, develop and maintain complex software for electromechanical systems. The role requires in‑office work with hybrid options and frequent collaboration with software, electrical, and mechanical engineers to deliver high‑quality products.

You’ll provide technical direction, define design specs, and partner with the product team on roadmaps while designing, testing, and refining software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, or related field with 3+ years of professional software development.
• Experience in C#, C++, or equivalent OO languages.
• Experience in Agile environments and Scrum-based processes.
• Ability to collaborate with product, engineering, operations, and customer-facing teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues.
• Experience designing, developing, testing, and maintaining production-quality software applications.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with emerging technologies.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction for Buehler's software engineering team and help drive a culture of continuous improvement.
• Establish technical vision and design specifications for complex software applications.
• Partner with product team to develop technical roadmap for multiple software platforms and simplify software portfolio.
• Design, develop and test software to deliver high-quality products.
• Coach others on best practices and methodologies for software development.
• Support service and applications teams to address customer issues and provide prompt resolution.
