Job summary

deciBel Research, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer in Huntsville, AL to contribute to the Ground Weapons System (GWS) for the Missile Defense Agency. The role involves developing software products and working as an individual contributor on the SPA team.

The ideal candidate will hold a STEM bachelor’s degree, have DoD Secret clearance, and hands-on C++ experience. Strong reading of other languages is encouraged. Must be a U.S. citizen and travel up to 10% may be required.

Become a part of something IMPACT-ful! Ground Missile Defense (GMD) is the heart of the Missile Defense System and a key element of our nation's defense against ballistic missile attacks.

Responsibilities Include:

The selected Software Engineer responsibilities will include the support of the Ground Weapons System (GWS) program as an individual contributor on the SPA team. This role is responsible for developing SW products that directly support the design and development of the GWS capability on behalf of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university

Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 2 Years Experience with bachelor's in science; 0 years of experience with master's degree
• Applicants must have an active Final DOD Secret security clearance
• Experience programming with C++
• Ability to read other coding languages

Special Skills Desired:

• Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time
• Experience with the System Engineering Lifecycle
• Experience with simulation and simulation frameworks
• Experience with Jira/Confluence/Bitbucket
• Experience with Unit Test and System Test Development
