deciBel Research has an immediate opening for a Systems Engineer in Huntsville, AL.

Position Description:

This position is for a Systems Engineer to support the IFICS Data Terminal (IDT) product team on the Ground Based Mid-course Defense (GMD) Weapon System (GWS) program. The candidate should have experience taking on progressively challenging responsibilities, demonstrating initiative, and driving innovative solutions. They should be recognized as a self-starter with a proven ability to lead teams, learn quickly, and deliver results in dynamic environments. In this role the candidate will perform Systems Engineering functions such as requirements decomposition, system design, and system integration & test as part of the IDT product team. This team follows an Agile framework using Jira and Confluence to manage their backlog and document progress.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a STEM related field from an accredited university

Experience Requirements:

• 5 Years with bachelor's in science; 3 Years with Masters
• Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analysis for total systems.
• Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
• Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
• Develop, mature, and coordinate project, software, and interface requirements
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to develop requirements, manage progress, and clear roadblocks
• Coordinate with key stakeholders to ensure proper verification and validation of project and software requirements
• Prior experience using DOORS
• Prior experience using Atlassian Tools
• Familiar with Agile terminology and best practices
• Familiar with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Cameo
• Familiar with automated software requirements testing and analysis

Special Skills Desired:

• Prior experience working on Missile Defense programs
• Prior experience with Hardware to Software interfaces
