Job summary

Concept Solutions, LLC, a Reston, VA-based technology firm, seeks a Software Engineer – Node.js / Go to support a mission-critical modernization program for a DoW customer. You will join a team building, modernizing, and sustaining high-volume web apps across React, Node.js, Go, and PostgreSQL.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting production apps, developing patches, building automated tests, reading code safely, maintaining docs, and participating in on-call rotations.

Concept Solutions, LLC (CS) is seeking a Software Engineer – Node.js / Go (Golang) to support a mission-critical application modernization and sustainment program for a Department of War (DoW) customer.

The Software Engineer will join a collaborative development team responsible for building, modernizing, and sustaining high-volume web applications that support essential government operations. This position focuses on maintaining application reliability, resolving complex technical issues, and delivering enhancements across a modern technology stack that includes React, Node.js, Go, and PostgreSQL.

• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects in high-volume web applications using React, Node.js, Go (Golang), and PostgreSQL.


• Develop, test, and implement software patches and enhancements while maintaining production application stability.


• Build and maintain automated tests to validate existing application functionality and support reliable software releases.


• Analyze and modify existing codebases, ensuring changes are implemented safely and efficiently.


• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and system runbooks.


• Participate in an on-call support rotation following onboarding.

Requirements

• 3+ years of backend software engineering experience, including production experience with Node.js (JavaScript/TypeScript) or Go (Golang), and SQL.


• Demonstrated experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and enhancing production applications.


• Ability to read, understand, and safely modify unfamiliar or complex codebases.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS) or Kubernetes.


• Familiarity with AWS GovCloud environments.


• Active Secret security clearance.


• Eligibility for a Tier 5 background investigation.

Work Location and Schedule

Location: Remote

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with core hours of 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. Eastern.

Development Schedule: Two-week sprints with a customer demonstration each sprint.

Travel: 0–10%, within the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

Security Requirement: U.S. citizenship required. Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance. An active Secret clearance or higher is strongly preferred and may allow an earlier start.

Compensation: $130,000–$150,000 base salary, depending on experience.
