Que Technology Group, Inc. seeks a Software Engineer to join the GATEKEEPER team at a Government or contractor facility in the Fort Meade, MD area.

You will contribute to SDLC activities and develop enterprise software using Java/Spring Boot, Python, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL with modern CI/CD practices. You will collaborate with software developers, systems engineers, QA, and DevOps to design, integrate, and sustain the GATEKEEPER product.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer engineering or CS plus 5 years of software engineering experience; 9 years total with substitutions.
• 2 years of work experience in the SIGINT, IA, or IT domains.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on software engineering across the full SDLC including development, integration, troubleshooting, deployment, and sustainment.
• Develop and enhance enterprise software with Java/Spring Boot, Python, PostgreSQL, NoSQL, and CI/CD.
• Support DoD product installations and resolve technical issues.
• Participate in code reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams for reliable software.
• Collaborate with test teams and stakeholders to understand requirements.
• Create and maintain technical docs, diagrams, deployment procedures, and training materials.

Job description

Que Technology Group, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Software Engineer to join the GATEKEEPER team, working closely with software developers, systems engineers, QA, and DevOps personnel to design, develop, integrate, and maintain the GATEKEEPER product.

In this role, you will provide hands-on software engineering support throughout the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including application development, system integration, troubleshooting, deployment, and sustainment. You will contribute to the development and enhancement of enterprise software solutions using technologies such as Java/Spring Boot, Python, relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases, and modern CI/CD practices. This is a full-time position (40 hours/week, normal day shift) at a Government or contractor facility in the Fort Meade, MD area.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on software engineering support throughout the full SDLC, including application development, system integration, troubleshooting, deployment, and sustainment
• Develop and enhance enterprise software solutions using Java/Spring Boot, Python, PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases, and modern CI/CD practices
• Support product installations and deployments for DoD customers and resolve technical issues
• Participate in code reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable and maintainable software solutions
• Collaborate closely with the test team, developers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including architectural diagrams, process flows, deployment procedures, and training materials

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in computer engineering or a related computer engineering or computer science discipline plus 5 years of software engineering experience. An additional 4 years of software engineering experience may be substituted for the degree (9 years total).
• 2 years of work experience in the SIGINT, IA, or IT domains

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong Java (Spring Boot), Python, and scripting skills
• Competent with RDBMS (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB)
• Experience working in a Docker environment (packaging, development, orchestration)
• Some experience with AI concepts and tools or using LLMs for code assistance
• Experience building Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) applications
• Experience using front-end frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue

Security Clearance

• Active Top Secret clearance with a Polygraph
