Visionist, Inc. in Fort Meade, MD is seeking a Software Engineer (Full Stack) with active TS/SCI clearance to strengthen the JCPG/CAP Discovery Analytics Team.

You will craft full-stack tools for analysts and operators, enabling data visualization, automation, and workflow improvements. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in a technical field and at least 3 years of software engineering experience, with Python backend, REST APIs, and front-end skills in React/JS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (4 years of experience may substitute).
• 3 years of experience in Software Engineering.
• Familiarity with data science principles for analyzing complex datasets.
• Experience with Python back-end development and REST APIs.
• Git version control proficiency.
• Proficiency in front-end technologies (React, Vue, Next.js, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3).
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to evolving requirements.
• Strong problem-solving and quality-focused mindset.
• Interest in staying current with emerging tech trends.

Responsibilities

• Develop specialized full-stack software tools and tradecraft to support analysts and operators on the JCPG/CAP Discovery Analytics Team
• Collaborate with the team lead to understand mission requirements and address the needs of analysts and operators
• Design and implement solutions for data visualization, task automation, and workflow improvements
• Work with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities to optimize existing tradecraft and tooling
• Drive development projects and proposals independently, taking ownership throughout the software development lifecycle
• Design, architect, and implement robust, scalable software solutions aligned with project requirements
• Continuously improve and optimize existing code to enhance performance, reliability, and maintainability

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline. (Additional 4 years of experience may substitute degree)
• 3 years of experience in Software Engineering
• Familiarity with data science principles and techniques for analyzing complex datasets and deriving meaningful insights
• Experience with Python back-end development, including custom libraries and REST API functions
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git for collaborative software development
• Proficiency in front-end technologies, including React, Vue, or Next.js, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to evolving technical and mission requirements
• Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality software solutions
• Interest in expanding technical knowledge and staying current with emerging technologies and industry trends
