Job summary

Evlo AI, based in San Francisco, is looking for a hands-on software engineer to design, build, and ship full-stack features end-to-end. You will work with TypeScript, Python, React on the frontend, and Node/Go behind an API layer with PostgreSQL and Redis as core data stores.

You'll collaborate with designers and product managers, own reliability and latency, contribute to CI/CD pipelines, and participate in architecture and code reviews to help the product scale while delivering strong user

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production web applications.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript across both frontend and backend contexts.
• Hands-on experience with React and at least one backend framework (Node.js/Express, NestJS, Django, or FastAPI).
• Working knowledge of relational databases, schema design, and query performance tuning.
• Experience with Git-based workflows, code review culture, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship full-stack features using TypeScript, React, and Node.js, from API contract through deployed UI
• Develop and maintain backend services in Node.js and Python, with emphasis on clean API design, correctness, and low-latency response times
• Own database schema design and query optimization in PostgreSQL; implement caching strategies with Redis where appropriate
• Build responsive, accessible frontend interfaces in React with modern tooling (Vite, Jest/React Testing Library, Storybook)
• Instrument services for observability using Datadog or similar tools; own on-call rotation participation and incident response
• Write integration and unit tests as a core part of the development workflow; maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions
• Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical design discussions that shape how the product scales

This is a hands-on engineering position with real product ownership. Engineers here ship to production weekly, work directly with designers and product managers, and are accountable for reliability, latency, and user experience - not just feature completion.

What We Are Looking For
