EPAM Systems is seeking a seasoned software engineer in the United States to own the full software lifecycle from design to production. You will write secure, scalable Python backend services (preferably FastAPI) and contribute to frontend tasks with JavaScript/TypeScript.

Qualificações

• Minimum 4 years of software development experience.
• Proficient in Python with an emphasis on clean, pythonic code and OOP/design patterns.
• Experience with one major web framework, preferably FastAPI.
• Frontend knowledge in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS; React or Angular preferred.
• Experience designing with relational and non-relational databases.
• Understanding of distributed systems and asynchronous processing with message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS Kinesis).
• Hands-on cloud experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker) with Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and testing (unit/integration/e2e)

Responsibilities

• Own the full lifecycle: Build, test, deploy, and maintain software from initial design down to production and monitoring
• Keep things secure: Write secure code, stay aware of potential vulnerabilities, and make sure we protect our data at every step
• Mentor and review: Guide other developers on the team, share knowledge, and run constructive code reviews
• Shape the architecture: Lead discussions on system design, technical planning, and our overall roadmap
• Collaborate with stakeholders: Talk directly with clients or product owners to clarify what they need and turn those requirements into clear tasks
• Connect and troubleshoot: Integrate our platforms with external systems and help the team debug and solve complex technical issues

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 4 years (preferably more) of software development experience
• Python/Backend: Expertise in writing clean, pythonic code, understanding and applying OOP and Design Patterns, as well as proven hands‑on experience in at least one of major web frameworks, preferably FastAPI
• Frontend: Good knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML and CSS, and modern frontend frameworks, preferably React or Angular
• Databases: Experience in designing and working with both relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.) and non‑relational databases (Redis, Mongo, DynamoDB, etc.)
• Event‑driven systems: Understanding the architecture of distributed systems and some experience with designing and implementing asynchronous processes with the use of message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS Kinesis, etc.)
• DevOps & Infrastructure: Hands‑on experience or good understanding of Cloud Platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), containerization (such as Docker), and container orchestration platforms (preferably Kubernetes), alongside CI/CD pipelines
• Testing: Thorough experience with unit testing in both Python and JS ecosystems (e.g. PyTest/Jest) as well as exposure with integration and e2e testing (e.g. Playwright/Cypress)
• Language: Good English communication skills are a must
• Nice to have Experience with GenAI, LLMs, and Prompt Engineering
• Experience setting up CI/CD infrastructure from scratch
