Job summary

Wellmark is seeking a Software Engineer or Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, test, implement, maintain, and document software solutions aligned with Wellmark’s strategy. You will collaborate across Technology to improve user experience, accessibility, and system integration in an agile, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field and at least 1 year of software development experience or 5+ years of related experience.
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Ability to gather information, perform root cause analysis, and optimize solutions using data.
• Ability to communicate with stakeholders and mentor team members effectively.
• Experience in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and teamwork capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide development and production support for key software applications.
• Define, estimate, develop, test, implement, and maintain programs to meet business requirements.
• Contribute to architecture decisions and reusable assets for development teams.
• Collaborate with UX team to improve user experience and accessibility criteria.
• Work on on-premise, cloud-native, and hybrid applications and solutions.
