Job summary

Wellmark Technology seeks a senior software engineering leader to drive the design, development, and continuous enhancement of our Stepwise product quoting platform. You will configure systems, build APIs, integrate data, and craft backend solutions that directly impact sales growth, retention, and efficiency.

As a technical leader and trusted partner, you will build scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions while aligning with Wellmark standards for quality, performance, and security.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field and at least 5 years of development experience (e.g., Angular, NodeJS, TypeScript, C++, .NET, Java, SQL) OR 9 years of related experience.
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and experience troubleshooting complex issues.
• Experience with software development lifecycle methodologies and driving technical excellence.
• Ability to communicate clearly, mentor teammates, and maintain a positive, collaborative attitude.
• Capable of aligning design decisions with the WaaS strategy and enterprise standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead system development and engineering for highly complex programs, coordinating coding, testing, and debugging.
• Serve as SME in implementing innovative and cost-effective solutions across multiple applications.
• Provide leadership, training, and guidance for gathering information, root-cause analysis, and solution optimization.
• Mentor and collaborate with diverse development teams, including global staffing and crowd-sourcing.
• Coordinate with resources to integrate products and execute timely, accurate results and exceptional service.
• Participate in proposals, estimates, and proof-of-concept activities as needed.
• Maintain awareness of industry best practices and enforce enterprise standards.
