Job summary

Genius Sports Group is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Fan Engagement team in New York. You will own the design, implementation, testing, and delivery of features, building scalable systems and mentoring junior engineers.

You will collaborate with product managers, designers and peers to deliver user-centered solutions in a fast-paced environment. You’ll contribute to improving code quality, participate in system design discussions, and help drive best practices across teams.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering production-quality software in a professional or similar environment.
• Proficiency in building professional web applications and familiarity with modern development frameworks.
• Experience owning features or components from design through deployment.
• Solid understanding of software development fundamentals, system design and debugging.
• Ability to work independently on moderately complex problems with limited guidance.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional partners and contributing to shared outcomes.
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, implementation, testing, and delivery of features end-to-end.
• Develop and maintain scalable, reliable, and maintainable systems.
• Identify and drive improvements to existing codebases, systems, and development practices.
• Solve moderately complex technical problems with thoughtful trade-offs.
• Participate in system design discussions and reviews.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver user-centered solutions.
• Mentor and support junior engineers through code reviews and knowledge sharing.
• Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and opportunities for improvement, and communicate them clearly.
• Contribute to a culture of quality through testing, documentation, and continuous improvement.
