TAR is seeking a Software Engineer in San Francisco to design, simulate, and operate power campuses. You will own one or two areas end-to-end, collaborating with domain experts to translate complex problems into robust software that interacts with physical equipment.

Formación

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering production systems
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• Depth in at least one of TypeScript, Python, or Rust with ability to learn others
• Experience taking a meaningful project from unclear request to working system
• Ability to investigate problems, explain trade-offs, and verify solutions
• Comfort working with non-software domain experts to understand their needs
• Willingness to take ownership beyond initial implementation, including debugging and documentation

Responsabilidades

• Build high-fidelity simulations of campus components (PV, inverters, batteries, loads) to evaluate configurations
• Develop data pipelines from LiDAR, terrain data, soils, and environmental constraints for automated site design
• Create construction/operational tools tracking piles, trackers, and modules from laydown to deployment
• Help integrate energy-management systems, SCADA interfaces, telemetry, and testing infrastructure
• Collaborate with domain experts to clarify problems, define scope, and ship reliable software
