Job summary

TAR is building the world’s first off-grid power plant for data centers, powered by renewables. As an Electrical Engineer in the robotics program, you will own electronics end-to-end—from schematic capture to field bring-up—at our San Francisco facility and on-site at field locations.

Responsibilities include designing electrical architectures for off-grid robots, motor drives integration, and ensuring EMI/EMC and safety throughout the life cycle.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of electrical engineering experience on robotic, vehicle, or electromechanical systems.
• End-to-end PCB design experience with hardware bring-up and debug under load.
• Power electronics depth across battery packs, BMS, DC-DC, distribution, and charging.
• Track record shipping hardware with vendors and contract manufacturers.
• High ownership, bias for speed, and comfort with ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Own the electrical architecture of TAR’s deployment machines, including high- and low-voltage distribution, battery and charging systems.
• Design boards end-to-end for motor control, sensing, power, and compute.
• Specify and integrate motor drives and actuation electronics with cross-functional teams.
• Integrate sensors and compute for autonomy: navigation, perception, controls, and comms.
• Design harnesses, connectors, and enclosures for harsh field conditions.
• Own EMI/EMC, grounding, thermal, and electrical safety systems.
