Job summary

Amazon’s EC2 Networking team seeks software engineers to help re-engineer the virtual networking control plane, building and maintaining high‑performance software for millions of VPC configurations. You’ll scope, design, implement, and test major deliverables across the development cycle.

You will own features from design through testing, work with product managers, and contribute to scalable cloud services that power AWS infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable cloud services and features powering AWS infrastructure.
• Collaborate with product managers and senior engineers to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Write high-quality, efficient code while adhering to AWS's architectural best practices
• Participate in code reviews to ensure quality, security, and performance standards
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across AWS services
• Implement automated testing frameworks to ensure reliability and performance
• Contribute to on-call rotations to support production systems
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance
• Document system designs, APIs, and operational procedures
• Continuously evaluate and improve existing systems for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends
