Job summary

Audible, a leading audio storytelling platform, seeks a Software Development Engineer to design, build, and refine systems that power thousands of stories for millions of listeners. You will work within an agile team to deliver scalable software, contribute to architecture decisions, and mentor junior engineers as part of your role in Cambridge, MA.

You’ll collaborate across disciplines to create robust solutions, optimize performance, and uphold coding standards.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or related STEM field.
• Experience with at least one modern language such as Java, Python, C++, or C# including object-oriented design.
• Experience with data structure implementation, basic algorithm development, and OO design principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain software components and applications for Audible’s platform.
• Identify and resolve software defects through code review, log analysis, metrics examination, debugging, and other troubleshooting methods.
• Write maintainable and scalable code for software components as part of an agile engineering team.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to envision, design, develop, test, and launch customer-centric software.
• Apply CS, engineering, and analysis principles to solve moderate-scale problems.
• Enhance testability, operational excellence, and documentation for owned software components.
• Handle data classification, storage, and management in accordance with company policies.
• Participate in the interview process and mentor fellow engineers.
