Job summary

Audible is seeking a Software Development Engineer to define and refine the tech powering the world's leading audiobook creator and provider. You will develop, test, and maintain software components, collaborate with stakeholders, and apply engineering principles to solve problems for millions of listeners.

You will work in an agile environment, contribute to design reviews, and mentor peers while building scalable solutions that improve performance and reliability across the platform.

Qualifications

• Experience with at least one general‑purpose programming language (Java, Python, C++, C#, Go, Rust, or TypeScript).
• Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and OO design principles.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/related STEM or enrollment/completion in a relevant program.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain software components and applications.
• Identify and resolve defects via code review, log analysis, and debugging.
• Write maintainable, scalable code as part of an agile team.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to design, develop, test, and launch software.
• Apply CS/engineering principles to solve problems.
• Enhance testability, OE, and documentation of owned components.
• Participate in interview process and mentor fellow engineers.
