Job summary

Swish Labs, based in New York, NY, is seeking a developer to build and maintain features across our platform, covering both frontend and backend, from borrower-facing application flow to underwriting services.

You will ship to production early, learn mortgage lending workflows, and grow into owning larger product areas over time. A computer science degree is not required, and 1–3 years of experience or a strong track record in web development are valued.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of professional experience or strong track record building web applications.
• Comfort across the stack: modern frontend, backend language, and a relational database.
• Able to explain tradeoffs in your code and be curious, detail-oriented, and honest about what you don’t know.

The role

You'll build and maintain features across our platform, frontend and backend, from the borrower-facing application flow to the services that move a loan through underwriting to funding. You'll ship to production early, learn how mortgage lending actually works, and grow into owning larger pieces of the product over time.

What you'll work on

• Frontend features in our borrower-facing and lender-facing web apps
• Backend services in Go. If you haven't used Go, we'll teach you.
• APIs and integrations with the providers lenders rely on
• Tests, monitoring, and the small things that make software trustworthy

What we're looking for

• 1-3 years of professional experience, or a strong track record of building web based applications
• Comfort working across the stack: a modern frontend framework, a backend language, and a relational database. You don't need to be expert in all three.
• Code you can walk us through and explain the tradeoffs in
• Curiosity, care for details, and comfort saying "I don't know that yet"
• Exposure to fintech, banking, lending, or another regulated field is a plus

A computer science degree is not required. Mortgage experience is not required.
