Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Boston seeks a Software Development Engineer to design and build core components of deployment and patching systems. You will enable zero-downtime updates for stateful storage software across AWS regions and develop secure automated workflows for safe rollouts.

You will work with senior engineers across EC2 and EBS, tackle complex challenges from patch ingestion to rollout, and contribute to autonomous deployment operations at global scale.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship software development experience.
• 2+ years designing or architecting large scale systems.
• 1+ years of experience in software development for multi-tiered or distributed apps.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in CS/Engineering/Math.
• Proficiency in at least one language such as C++, Java, C#, or Perl.

Responsibilities

• Design and build deployment systems that safely update stateful storage software with zero customer impact.
• Develop automated security patching workflows and ensure manifest consistency.
• Create safe deployment orchestration for stateful workloads coordinating with storage engines.
• Implement automated canary analysis and rollback mechanisms to detect deployment issues.
• Contribute to secure, zero-access deployment observability and autonomous server operations.
