Job description

As a Software Engineer reporting to the Senior Director of Software Engineering, you'll play a key role in building and improving the Nasdaq Questionnaires platform — a SaaS solution supporting governance, compliance, and board-related workflows for corporate clients worldwide. You'll thrive here if you're curious, collaborative, and bring strong engineering fundamentals to a team that values learning, quality, and meaningful contribution across development, testing, deployment readiness, and support activities — not just one technology or layer of the stack.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain software components — including APIs, backend services, and user-facing features — across a modern cloud-based platform.
  • Participate in the full development lifecycle, from requirements and design through testing, deployment readiness, release support, and thoughtful production support.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Quality, DevOps, and Support teams across multiple locations to deliver scalable, reliable, and high-quality solutions.
  • Build with quality in mind by contributing to engineering best practices, automation, testability, and reliable delivery improvements that help the team ship software with confidence.
  • Explore emerging technologies — including AI-assisted development and intelligent automation — and bring ideas that improve the product and team effectiveness.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2–4 years of professional software development experience with strong programming fundamentals and core engineering principles.
  • Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as C#, Java, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
  • Foundational knowledge of web application architecture, REST APIs, relational databases, cloud platforms, networking, scalability, queues, background processing, and distributed systems concepts.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills; able to collaborate effectively in Agile, cross-functional environments and communicate clearly across teams.
  • Comfortable contributing across development, testing, deployment readiness, and support activities, with a willingness to learn beyond a single technology or layer of the stack.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Exposure to technologies similar to our environment, such as cloud services, containerization, Kubernetes/AKS, CI/CD pipelines, observability tooling, or secure software development in an enterprise or SaaS environment.
  • Exposure to AI-assisted development, machine learning concepts, or intelligent automation in a professional or academic context.
  • Background in regulated industries such as fintech, capital markets, or enterprise compliance technology.
