As a Software Engineer reporting to the Senior Director of Software Engineering, you'll play a key role in building and improving the Nasdaq Questionnaires platform — a SaaS solution supporting governance, compliance, and board‑related workflows for corporate clients worldwide. You'll thrive here if you're curious, collaborative, and bring strong engineering fundamentals to a team that values learning, quality, and meaningful contribution across development, testing, deployment readiness, and support activities—not just one technology or layer of the stack.
Design, develop, and maintain software components — including APIs, backend services, and user‑facing features — across a modern cloud‑based platform. Participate in the full development lifecycle, from requirements and design through testing, deployment readiness, release support, and thoughtful production support. Partner with Product, Engineering, Quality, DevOps, and Support teams across multiple locations to deliver scalable, reliable, and high‑quality solutions. Build with quality in mind by contributing to engineering best practices, automation, testability, and reliable delivery improvements that help the team ship software with confidence. Explore emerging technologies — including AI‑assisted development and intelligent automation — and bring ideas that improve the product and team effectiveness.
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 2–4 years of professional software development experience with strong programming fundamentals and core engineering principles. Strong fundamentals in machine learning and data science, with practical exposure to model evaluation, data preparation, feature engineering, basic statistics, and applying ML concepts in academic, project, or professional settings. Lead the development and adoption of AI/ML practices across engineering teams, driving AI solution delivery while establishing risk assessment frameworks, testing strategies, model validation standards, and responsible AI governance processes. Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as C#, Java, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript. Foundational knowledge of web application architecture, REST APIs, relational databases, cloud platforms, networking, scalability, queues, background processing, and distributed systems concepts. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills; able to collaborate effectively in Agile, cross‑functional environments and communicate clearly across teams. Comfortable contributing across development, testing, deployment readiness, and support activities, with a willingness to learn beyond a single technology or layer of the stack.
Exposure to technologies similar to our environment, such as cloud services, containerization, Kubernetes/AKS, CI/CD pipelines, observability tooling, or secure software development in an enterprise or SaaS environment. Exposure to AI‑assisted development, machine learning concepts, or intelligent automation in a professional or academic context. Background in regulated industries such as fintech, capital markets, or enterprise compliance technology. This position offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment (at least 3 days a week in office, subject to change), providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment‑based visa sponsorship now or in the future; Nasdaq will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work visa status for this opportunity (no sponsorship is available for H‑1B, L‑1, TN, O‑1, E‑3, H‑1B1, F‑1, J‑1, OPT, CPT or any other employment‑based visa).
