Job summary

The City of Glendale is seeking a Software Engineer to analyze customer needs and design, develop, test, install, and integrate software systems to meet business requirements.

Responsibilities include configuring both on-premise and SaaS applications, recommending upgrades, and monitoring system performance. The role emphasizes SDLC adherence and on-call support as part of city IT operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/MIS/CE or related field with 3 years of software development experience.
• Experience with SDLC, Agile methodologies, and enterprise software.
• Experience with on-premise and cloud-based applications.
• Knowledge of Oracle Cloud Platform and SQL databases.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Writes high-quality code that satisfies customer needs.
• Creates systems by designing, developing, and installing software solutions.
• Maintains and improves existing codebases and conducts peer reviews.
• Applies Agile methodologies to application development and follows the SDLC.
• Provides on-call support during non-business hours.
