Job summary

Litera is hiring a Software Engineer in a hybrid Denver role. You will work with a team delivering AI-driven legal tech solutions, translating product goals into executable prompts, and ensuring safe, observable, compliant systems.

You will design, develop, test, and deploy scalable applications, collaborate across product, QA, and UX, and own data-import workflows. Expect growth opportunities in a fast-paced, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of software development experience.
• Proficient in SQL, stored procedures, and data modeling.
• Experience with .NET/.NET Core, ASP.NET Core, REST APIs.
• Familiarity with modern web tech (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and frameworks.
• Strong prompt engineering and written communication skills.
• Experience with CI/CD and DevOps tooling in Azure or GitHub.

This is a hybrid role based in Denver, CO with the expectations to be in office at least 3 days a week for collaboration and connection.

What You'll Deliver

• Translate product goals into LLM-driven, machine-executable instructions using structured prompting techniques
• Implement LLM safety, observability, and policy compliance (e.g., logging, red-teaming, PII handling)
• Design, develop, test, and deliver scalable, customer-facing applications and services
• Write clean, well-documented, and extensible code aligned with engineering standards
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Management and Quality Engineering
• Contribute across the full software development lifecycle (refinement, coding, testing, deployment)
• Participate in Agile practices and continuously improve development processes and quality
• Manage task priorities, estimates, deadlines, and deliverables to meet performance expectations
• Ownership of multiple versions of data warehouse code for imports from various time and billing systems
• Owning ways to scale existing code, and options to modernize platform

What You'll Bring

Must-Haves:

• 3-5 years of software development experience.
• SQL, Stored Procedures, Views, SQL Agent Jobs
• SSAS, Multi-Dimensional, Tabular, MDX, DAX
• Experience with .NET/.NET Core, ASP.NET Core, REST APIs, SQL, and Entity Framework
• Experience in modern web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and frameworks (React, Angular, Vue, etc.)
• Azure data Factory
• Performance tuning queries
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows, and DevOps tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub)
• Strong knowledge of backend development, APIs, and service-oriented architecture
• Proven prompt engineering experience and strong written communication skills

Nice to Haves:

• Experience with AI-enabled development (e.g., Agentic AI tools, prompt orchestration, AI feature delivery)
• Experience with unit/integration testing frameworks and test coverage practices
• Cloud and containerization experience (Azure, Docker, Kubernetes) with a focus on secure, scalable design

Pay Transparency for Colorado Applicants

The base salary range for this role is $120,000 to $150,000 USD. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, education, and other relevant qualifications. This role is also eligible to participate in a company bonus plan.

In addition to base salary, Litera offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) with company match, and incentive and recognition programs. Benefits are subject to eligibility requirements.
