Job summary

Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) is seeking a Software Engineer to design, implement, test, and deploy software in a fast-paced environment. You will interact with users to gather requirements and lead design reviews across teams.

Qualifications include a B.S. (minimum) in CS/CE, 4+ years of experience, proficiency in Java or Python, and experience with modern JS frameworks and Docker. TS/SCI eligibility and US citizenship are required. This role is based in Laurel, MD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field with at least 4 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with a high level language, including significant experience with Java or Python.
• Experience with web development using modern JavaScript frameworks (Vue.js, ReactJS, Angular etc.).
• Experience with containerized software tools, such as Docker.
• Ability to translate customer needs into requirements, architecture, and tasking for a team.
• Familiarity with relational (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL) or non-relational databases (MongoDB, etc.).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
