Overview

Glean is looking for Backend/Infrastructure engineers to build a highly performant, scalable, secure, permissions‑aware system that makes enterprise knowledge readily available to employees in all contexts of their work. The role offers opportunities to work on modern cloud‑native application stacks, distributed systems, unified data models, and security across application and platform layers while balancing cost and deployment tooling in multiple cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Own impactful infrastructure problems from inception to architecture and production launch.
• Write well‑thought‑out design documents and robust, high‑quality, well‑tested code.
• Collaborate with a strong team to identify and prioritize the most impactful projects for the roadmap.
• Mentor junior engineers or learn from battle‑tested peers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience.
• BA/BS in computer science or related degree.
• Experience building infrastructure for distributed systems or cloud‑native applications.
• Thrives in a customer‑focused, tight‑knit, cross‑functional environment and is a team player willing to take on impactful work.
• Proactive, positive attitude toward leading, learning, troubleshooting, and owning tasks of all sizes.
• Proficient at coding (e.g., Go, Python, Java, C++) with an emphasis on reliability, scale, and well‑tested components.
• Familiarity with cloud‑native development practices in GCP, AWS, or Azure is a plus.

Location

This role is hybrid (4 days a week in our Mountain View office).

Compensation & Benefits

The standard base salary range for this position is $140,000 – $265,000 annually. Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for variable compensation, equity, and benefits.
