Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC's AWS Security Communications (SecComms) team is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer to design, build, and operate software that powers security workflows and integrations at scale in Seattle.

You will work with security engineers, program managers, and communications professionals to deliver reliable, well-tested features from conception through deployment, while maintaining high standards of operational excellence and security.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver software features and improvements spanning the full lifecycle — including scoping, architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance — for major portions of the SecComms platform.
• Work backwards from customer and stakeholder needs to define requirements and translate them into well-designed, maintainable software solutions.
• Design cohesive software implementations for difficult problems with visible risks or roadblocks; bring clarity to ambiguous requirements and identify simple, extensible designs.
• Balance constraints across new feature development, technical debt, and operational reliability; limit short-term workarounds in favor of sustainable solutions.
