Job summary

Amazon Security’s SecComms team designs and operates scalable platforms and tools that help the organization communicate security findings and statuses across internal and external stakeholders. The Senior SDE will own the architectural direction of the SecComms platform, lead multi-engineer programs, and drive end-to-end delivery and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language.
• 5+ years leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture and technical direction of major systems within the SecComms platform across the full lifecycle.
• Translate customer needs into requirements and define the technology strategy to meet them when none exists.
• Lead and communicate complex technical designs clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Drive operational excellence with alarms, telemetry, runbooks, and on-call readiness.
• Collaborate with security engineers, program managers, and communications leads to align roadmaps and decisions.
