Compensation
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $121,000 and $152,000 per year. Other elements of the total compensation package may include a sign‑on bonus, restricted stock units, discretionary awards and eligibility for commissions for applicable sales roles, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
Role Summary
Nomura, a leading ETF issuer, is building a world‑class ETF platform. The Software Engineering Associate will design and deliver full‑stack technology solutions to solve business problems in the asset‑management space. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to position our offerings competitively and deliver meaningful solutions that meet evolving needs of internal stakeholders and clients.
Responsibilities
- Create optimal data pipelines using Apache Airflow DAGs, Docker, AWS, Python or Snowflake.
- Assemble large, complex sets of data that meet non‑functional and functional business requirements.
- Design modern, interactive, user‑friendly web apps (UI) using React, Material UI, and similar frameworks.
- Design and implement internal process improvements including re‑designing infrastructure for greater scalability, optimizing data delivery, and automating manual processes.
- Build required infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various sources using AWS and SQL technologies.
- Build analytical tools to utilize the data pipeline, providing actionable insight into key business performance metrics such as operational efficiency and customer acquisition.
- Work with stakeholders—including data, design, product, and executive teams—assisting them with data‑related technical issues.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4+ years’ experience and preferably a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
- Extensive hands‑on experience designing and delivering full‑stack technology solutions in a financial services or asset‑management environment; experience in the ETF space is desired.
- Demonstrated ability to propose and implement solutions across full‑stack applications and data pipelines running in the cloud (preferably AWS).
- Strong communication skills to articulate complex technical challenges and solutions to peers, junior engineers, and stakeholders, and to mentor others.
- Experience with cloud platforms, microservices architectures, DevOps practices, and containerization technologies.
- Considered a top candidate if familiar with our tech stack (React, Python, AWS, Lambda, Redshift, S3) and platforms (Aladdin, Bloomberg, FactSet) or our domain (research, portfolio construction, trading, execution, performance attribution across equities, fixed income, derivatives).
- Technical skills required or strongly preferred:
- AWS – SNS, SQS, EC2, Lambda
- Databases – Redshift or Snowflake
- Python (Object‑Oriented) & SQL
- Containers (Kubernetes or Docker)
- CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Bamboo)
- RESTful APIs
- Apache Airflow orchestration
- Asset Management / Financial domain experience (ETF preferred)
