Job summary

RTX is seeking an embedded software specialist to contribute to cockpit graphics server development, applying DO-178C-like diligence in a lab and office environment. You will work across requirements, design, coding and verification while coordinating with project leadership to meet schedule and budget targets.

We value hands-on experience with OpenGL/Vulkan, real-time OS concepts and full software life cycle participation.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s or master’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) discipline.
  • Must be willing to work 40 hours per week; US Citizen, no dual citizenship.
  • Demonstrated interest in embedded software solutions and board-level device drivers.
  • Programming experience in C, C++ and/or Python.
  • Experience with OpenGL and/or Vulkan.
  • Comfortable with real-time operating systems and object-oriented programming concepts.
  • Experience with all phases of the software development life cycle.
  • Energetic and proactive self-starter with strong interpersonal and communications skills.

Responsibilities

  • Follow Collins Aerospace processes for software development and verification on current projects.
  • Work with desktop hardware in an office and target hardware in a lab to deliver a high-quality software product on schedule and within cost constraints.

What You Will Do
  • Contribute to Software Requirements, Design, Code, and Verification of the cockpit display system’s graphics server.
  • Understand Collins Aerospace processes related to software development and verification and apply them to current projects.
  • Work with desktop computer in an office environment and with target hardware in an engineering lab to achieve the goal of delivering a high-quality software product within schedule and cost constraints
What You Will Learn (Optional)
  • Identify the root cause of moderate to complex software issues using appropriate debug and analysis tools.
  • Clearly summarize encountered technical software issues to project leadership in a timely fashion.
  • Work together in a collaborative team that is part of multi large systems Full life cycle development of DO-178 DAL A certified software

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD.
