RTX's Collins Aerospace division seeks a Software Engineer 1 to develop embedded software in C++ for the A661 Graphics Server, with DO-178C DAL A fidelity. You will contribute to requirements, design, code and verification, and work with both office and lab environments to deliver a high-quality software product on schedule.

The role requires 40-hour weeks and a strong grounding in embedded software, OpenGL/Vulkan, and RTOS concepts, with on-site work in a highly collaborative team.

Come join the Boeing Platforms department engineering team as a Software Engineer 1.The engineer will help with requirements capture and design and develop embedded software in C++ for the A661 Graphics Server. The candidate will also test and verify the developed software to Design Assurance Level A fidelity per DO-178C standard.

What You Will Do
  • Contribute to Software Requirements, Design, Code, and Verification of the cockpit display system’s graphics server.
  • Understand Collins Aerospace processes related to software development and verification and apply them to current projects.
  • Work with desktop computer in an office environment and with target hardware in an engineering lab to achieve the goal of delivering a high-quality software product within schedule and cost constraints
What You Will Learn (Optional)
  • Identify the root cause of moderate to complex software issues using appropriate debug and analysis tools.
  • Clearly summarize encountered technical software issues to project leadership in a timely fashion.
  • Work together in a collaborative team that is part of multi large systems
  • Full life cycle development of DO-178 DAL A certified software
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a bachelor’s or master’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) discipline
  • Must be willing to work 40 hours per week
  • US Citizen, no dual citizenship
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Demonstrated interest in embedded software solutions and board-level device drivers
  • Programming experience in C,C++and/or Python
  • Experience working with OpenGL and/or Vulkan
  • Comfortable withreal-time operating system andobject-oriented programming concepts
  • Experience withall phases of the software development life cycle
  • Energetic and proactive self-starterwith strong interpersonal and communications skills

This role is for an Onsite position: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite.

This role is classified as:

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). If you live within a reasonable commute of an RTX site with other colleagues you interact with, your manager will discuss whether there is a degree of onsite presence associated with this role.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

Requires theoretical knowledge typically obtained through University Degree. Limited to some knowledge of RTX organization.

Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and less than 2 years prior relevant experience.

Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
