Job summary

RTX is offering an internship/co-op and potential full-time opportunities in Cedar Rapids, IA to contribute to the cockpit display system software. You will participate in requirements, design, coding, and verification for a graphics server, and collaborate with a team to meet schedule and cost goals.

You will work with desktop and target hardware in a lab, learn Collins Aerospace processes, and pursue a DO-178 DAL A software life cycle.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) discipline and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to Software Requirements, Design, Code, and Verification of the cockpit display system’s graphics server.
• Understand Collins Aerospace processes related to software development and verification and apply them to current projects.
• Work with desktop computer in an office environment and with target hardware in an engineering lab to deliver a high-quality software product within schedule and cost constraints.
• Identify the root cause of moderate to complex software issues using debugging and analysis tools.
• Summarize encountered technical software issues to project leadership in a timely fashion.
• Collaborate in a large-scale systems team and participate in full life cycle development of DO-178 DAL A certified software.
