Job summary

Nuna Inc. is building an AI health coach and seeks a software engineer to own meaningful parts of the product from day one. You will design, build, ship, and operate key features in production, focusing on the AI/agent logic, services behind it, and data dependencies with autonomy and a bias toward practical trade-offs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar field.
• Strong engineering skills with end-to-end ownership of features or systems.
• Experience operating what you build: testing, deployment, observability.
• Comfort with ambiguity within your domain; able to ship.
• Clear communication across product, design, and engineering.
• Genuine interest in improving healthcare with interdisciplinary team.
• Able to work from our San Francisco office a minimum of 2 days per week.
• Experience with Kotlin, TypeScript, React, and Flutter.
• Experience with AI/LLM product systems or agents.
• You've worked with healthcare data, or in another high-trust, regulated domain.
• Mobile experience, or experience bridging mobile clients and backend systems.
• Experience shipping in an early-stage or fast-moving consumer product.

Responsibilities

• Own meaningful features and services end to end — design, build, ship, and operate them in production.
• Contribute to architecture decisions in the AI/agent and product systems at the core of the coach.
• Write high-quality, well-tested, observable code, and help others do the same through reviews and pairing.
• Treat privacy, security, and the responsible handling of health data as part of doing the job well.
• Break ambiguous product problems into shippable work, making pragmatic trade-offs to deliver.
• Partner with product, design, and the Data org to turn requirements into working software.
