Job summary

Amazon Leo AI Foundations seeks a Software Development Engineer to design, build, and operate globally distributed systems that enable low-latency analytics and AI capabilities for Leo devices—from satellites to gateways and customer terminals.

You will implement scalable data lakehouse and analytics layers using AWS tech, uphold security standards, and collaborate across teams to deliver reliable internet services and intelligent software for a connected world.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement scalable, cost-optimized data lakehouse and analytics layers.
• Establish metadata management with automated data classification and lineage tracking.
• Design and enforce standardized data ingestion patterns with quality controls.
• Develop centralized metrics repository for Leo metrics with audit trails.
• Implement cross-domain federated query capabilities with optimization techniques.
• Architect a globally distributed vector database infrastructure with sub-100ms retrieval.
