Job summary

Amazon Leo AI Foundations is seeking a Sr. Software Development Engineer to design, implement, and operate globally distributed systems enabling low-latency analytics and AI capabilities for Leo satellite connectivity.

You will build cloud services and APIs that orchestrate Leo AI Foundations across satellites, gateways, and customer terminals, delivering high-performance, scalable architectures and robust data workflows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software language.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement a scalable, cost-optimized data lakehouse and analytics layer.
• Establish metadata management with automated data classification and lineage tracking.
• Design standardized data ingestion patterns with quality controls and validation gates.
• Architect globally distributed vector DB infrastructure with sub-100ms retrieval.
