Job summary

Samost Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Southern New Jersey is seeking a Software Engineer to build and maintain modern web apps across frontend, backend, CMS, cloud, and deployment workflows. You’ll use TypeScript, C#, Python, and SQL, with AI-assisted development and grounded human oversight.

You will work hybrid from NJ, collaborating with product, design, and engineering to deliver scalable features, optimize performance, and ensure reliability while following best CI/CD practices.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software engineering experience building production applications.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and Vercel deployments.
• Experience with APIs and backend services in Python, C# and/or Node.js.
• Experience with SQL databases including PostgreSQL/SQL Server/BigQuery.
• Familiarity with Contentstack or similar headless CMS platforms.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain web applications using TypeScript, Next.js, Tailwind CSS, and Bootstrap.
• Develop backend services and APIs with C#, Python, and TypeScript.
• Integrate CMS-driven content using Contentstack and Sitecore.
• Design and optimize SQL queries and data workflows in PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and BigQuery.
• Deploy, monitor, and scale applications on AWS and Vercel.
• Maintain CI/CD and code quality workflows using GitHub Actions.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver scalable features.
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve performance and reliability.
