Job summary

Orchard is seeking a software engineer to contribute to the systems behind our website and agent tools. You’ll work on backend and frontend, or both, building APIs, data services, and integrations.

The role focuses on scale, speed, and reliability for a site with 150k+ visitors monthly. You’ll collaborate with product, design, and business stakeholders, own your projects, and leverage AI coding tools like Claude Code, Copilot, and Codex to ship features.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Strong skills in Python, TypeScript, or Go.
• Experience with APIs and data modeling.
• Experience with AWS, Postgres, SQL, Kafka, Airflow, Docker, or CircleCI is a plus.
• Experience directing AI coding tools effectively

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the services and interfaces powering Orchard's website and internal tools.
• Work with product and design to turn ideas into clear, well-scoped projects.
• Debug and improve core services for speed and reliability.
• Ensure our systems scale smoothly as user base grows.
• Write clean, tested code that’s easy to understand and maintain.
• Take part in on-call rotations and own the systems you build.
