Job summary

Surescripts, a leader in health information networks, seeks software engineers to design, develop, and troubleshoot high-volume applications in an Agile environment. You will collaborate with architects, customers, product partners, and other engineers to solve complex challenges, building systems that process millions of transactions daily and store terabytes of data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience in related, progressive software engineering roles.
• Experience with multiple programming languages (C#, Java, Groovy, Scala, Python, TypeScript, JavaScript).
• Experience with tools and platforms for developing, building, testing, deploying, and monitoring software systems.
• Experience using modern AI-assisted development tools to support coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and delivery workflows.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively, communicate clearly, learn continuously, and escalate issues when appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Develop and troubleshoot software applications in an Agile environment, collaborating with others to produce high quality working tested software.
• Estimate work, refine requirements, iterate on designs, deliver working software, and support critical applications throughout the SDLC.
• Lead or participate in design and code reviews; create and maintain automated tests; validate acceptance criteria; monitor production systems for defects and improvements.
• Apply shift-left quality practices to shorten feedback loops, reduce rework, prevent defects, and ensure secure, reliable software.
• Share best practices in development, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, security, data privacy, and Agile methods.
• Review AI-assisted outputs for correctness, security, performance, and maintainability across the lifecycle.
• Continuously improve AI-assisted workflows based on measurable impact to delivery speed and outcomes.
