Job summary

Motion Recruitment in Charlotte is seeking an experienced software engineer to design and build AI-driven automation solutions. The role focuses on semi-autonomous, agent-based systems and deploying AI in production environments.

You will collaborate with engineering teams across cloud environments, leveraging Python and DevOps practices, with a hybrid schedule and a 12-month W2 contract on site in Charlotte area.

Qualifications

• 5+ years software engineering experience or equivalent.
• 2+ years in cloud-native development across Azure, GCP or OpenShift.
• 1+ years knowledge of RAG and agentic workflows in generative AI.
• 2+ years Python engineering experience.
• Familiarity with SDLC and DevOps practices.
• Ability to balance technical excellence with business needs.

Job description

Location: Charlotte NC, Raleigh NC, Irving TX

Schedule: Hybrid - 3 Days Onsite

Duration: 12 Month W2 Contract

What You’ll Do

• Design and build AI-driven automation solutions
• Orchestrate semi-autonomous / agent-based systems
• Apply best practices for deploying AI in production environments
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to deliver scalable solutions

Required Skills:

• 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, education.
• 2+ years of strong understanding of multi-cloud environments (Azure, GCP, OpenShift) and hands-on experience with cloud-native development and/or Cloud migration of applications
• 1+ years knowledge of retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and/or agentic workflows in generative AI
• Applications
• 5-10 years of engineering experience (could be Java Engineers who transitioned to Python)
• 2+ years of Python engineering
• AI concepts (know frameworks for building agents, tech agnostic)
• SDLC

Preferred Skills:

• Proficiency in DevOps tools and practices, including infrastructure as code.
• Strong experience collaborating with product and business stakeholders to deliver valuable and user-centric solutions.
• Financial industry experience or familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to balance technical excellence with business priorities.
