The position is a 1-year W2 contract with benefits and the potential for conversion to permanent employment.

Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s degree and have over 5 years of software engineering experience in Java and Python. Experience with AI-driven systems and cloud-native environments is preferable.

Qualifications

One of the country's largest financial organizations is searching for an AI Automation Engineer to join their innovation-focused Data Science Engineering team in a high-impact, hybrid environment. This exciting opportunity begins as a 1-year W2 contract offering competitive benefits and the potential to extend or convert to permanent employment. The job requires a hybrid schedule (3 days per week) at their HQ location in Raleigh, NC.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement AI-driven automation solutions to streamline and modernize manual workflows
• Develop and orchestrate agent-based systems leveraging existing AI frameworks and models
• Assess AI solution performance, identifying reliability, accuracy, and security improvements
• Apply best practices to the deployment of AI technology within enterprise production environments
• Work closely with other software engineers to deliver scalable, collaborative solutions
• Rapidly prototype and present innovative demos and solutions for business stakeholders
• Contribute to technical architecture planning, migration projects, and ongoing evolution of enterprise platforms
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure compliance and security standards are met across all stages of development

Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field required
• 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience in Java and Python (minimum 2 years Python development)
• 1+ years' knowledge of retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and/or agentic workflows in generative AI applications
• Deep familiarity with the software development lifecycle (SDLC), version control, and DevOps pipelines
• Proven expertise building agentic AI solutions using frameworks such as Agent Development Kit (ADK), LangChain, or similar tools
• Experience with cloud-native development or application migration in multi-cloud environments (Azure, GCP, OpenShift preferred)
• Background in regulated or financial sectors is a strong plus, particularly with risk, compliance, or cybersecurity
• Exposure to MLOps or LLMOps practices, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) workflows
• Proficiency in collaborating within agile, team-based environments
• Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and to present innovative demos to stakeholders
