Job summary

Sweetwater, the nation’s #1 online retailer of pro audio equipment and music instruments, seeks a Software Engineer for its IT team in Fort Wayne. You will build and support software for internal and external customers, in an AI-augmented development environment.

Relocation to our Fort Wayne campus is required. You will work with Claude, Cursor, and Copilot as daily tools, verify AI-generated code, and grow with a collaborative, customer-focused team that values ownership and continuous learning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficiency in at least one modern language: Golang, Python, C#, JavaScript.
• Familiarity with AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) and ability to validate AI output.
• Ability to read, understand, and verify AI-generated code, recognizing failures and security issues.
• 1–3 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Write clean, correct code for well-defined tasks under guidance of senior engineers.
• Use AI coding assistants responsibly by verifying output and identifying failure modes.
• Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve quality.
• Learn the team’s systems, tools, and retail business functions.
• Participate in production support rotation and triage defects with logs and runbooks.
• Ask thoughtful questions and pursue continuous learning and growth.
• Collaborate with team to deliver features on schedule while maintaining quality.
