Job summary

Sierra AI in San Francisco is seeking a software engineer to build core systems powering intelligent agents, focusing on the Agent SDK, orchestration, runtime, and the primitives that define how agents reason, act, and interact with users and systems. You have 4+ years of hands-on experience building production products and systems, a degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent), and strong software fundamentals.

Go and TypeScript experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 4+ years hands-on experience building production products and systems.
• Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Build the core systems that power agents and the Agent SDK, including orchestration and runtime components.
• Design the agentic loop to ensure steerability, verifiability, and natural conversations in real-world environments.
• Improve retrieval and grounding to provide accurate, trustworthy responses by effectively using knowledge.
• Build evaluation systems and frameworks to measure and improve agent quality over time.
