Job summary

deciBel Research, Inc. in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Software Engineer to join the GMD Weapon System Fire Control team. You will translate Ada code to C++, implement and test new capabilities, and work with physics-based algorithms visible to the Missile Defense Agency.

The role requires a STEM degree and experience with Ada/C++, MATLAB, Python, Linux/Unix, and modern CI/CD tooling; in-person work in a closed-area environment is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM field, ideally Math or Physics.
• 2 years related experience or a Master’s with 0 years experience; up to 10 years total.
• Experience with Ada or C++ and MATLAB/Python.
• Experience with software containerization and orchestration (Kubernetes, Helm, Docker).
• Unix/Linux OS experience and ability to read Modeling and Simulation.
• Must be able to support in-person / closed-area work environment.

Responsibilities

• Understand, implement, and test existing and new capabilities and algorithms.
• Translate Ada code to C++ and modernize software.
• Support reviews of requirements and test cases for the Engagement Planner team.
